Feeding Futures

‘Feeding Futures’ was a child-friendly free public event hosted at the Whitworth Gallery in Manchester UK, on 13 July 2022.

As part of Feeding Futures, a one-day event exploring some of the complex attitudes towards how we feed our babies, I led a session called What If? Why Not? I introduced my practice based design research and facilitated a short workshop asking ‘what if?’ questions, a tool for daring to dream, speculating otherwise and imagining alternative feeding futures. To watch my presentation and to find out more about the event please see Feed Futures Event. Whitworth Gallery Manchester, 2022

Thank you to all the adults, children, infants and babies involved, especially those who carefully and generously made flags, held children while others made flags or while making your own flags, tried unsuccessfully to make flags, and/or made the flags which are displayed on this page. This was a very special event made possible by Elaine Speight from UClan. Read an article by Dr Joanna Wolfarth about the project and event which explore attitudes towards baby feeding here.
